As of January 17, our district sanitation garage superintendent reports that DSNY is NOT going to work Monday, January 18 (Martin Luther King Day) nor will they work overtime Sunday. They now believe they're caught up enough with trash collection to take a break.
REGARDING RECYCLING: Residents living south of Joralemon Street should expect to wait out the entire week, until next Monday, January 24, for their next recycling pickup.
No matter where you live in the Heights, do not expect any garbage collection Sunday or Monday -- absent another big snowstorm, the schedule is "going back to normal."
